YOUR QUESTIONS: For Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan

As a teenager, Donegan formed a band called Vandal

View in gallery

Last week we gave you the chance to ask Billy Idol’s former guitarist Steve Stevens a question – next up is Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan, who we’re all set to interview next week.

Dan Donegan helped form Chicago based heavy-rockers Disturbed in 1996, selling over 10 million albums worldwide. Donegan has also been honoured with a Washburn Custom Artist Series Guitar and a DigiTech Signature Pedal called The Weapon. If you’re unfamiliar with the band’s work, have a listen to Stricken or their cover of Genesis’ Land Of Confusion.

To ask a question, simply add one to the comments below (you’ll need to be registered and logged in to do this). We’ll pick the best and ask them during the interview next week. Thanks for all your questions for Steve Stevens – the full podcast is on its way.

    Hello Dan
How on earth did you get a signature pedal?
Didn't Guitarist magazine say it best in their DigiTech roundup with "Brian May, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and err... Dan Donegan"?
    haha

With some of the songs from the first album becoming dance floor staples (I'm thinking stupify and down with the sickness here) do you still feel proud of those songs or do you feel that you have moved on musically?

Hi Dan. I'm in a very cool metal band. Problem is, I'm in my 30s. Do you think I'm too old to make it? My friends tell me I should hang it up, but I really want to be a pro musician. Should I hang in there? Thanks. Thedude5

It says on wikipedia that Disturbed have recorded cover versions of Genesis, Tears For Fears and Faith No More. What's the deal? Genesis don't seem like the sort of band that would influence your music that much. Rock on.
