Metallica and Linkin Park to headline UK leg of Sonisphere

Metallica: coming to Europe this summer

1-2 August 2009 sees Metallica and Linkin Park headline the UK leg of Sonisphere, a new festival touring Europe this summer. Tickets, which are sure to be snapped up quickly, go on sale at 9am GMT on Wednesday 11 February.

The UK leg of Sonisphere is set to be the climax of a summer-long schedule that sees the festival visit the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Finland before arriving in Knebworth.

Metallica's Lars Ulrich is already excited: "We're stoked to be touring England and Europe with Sonisphere. Summer festivals in Europe are what Metallica do best. We can't wait to see all of our fans over there."
