If you’re looking for new ways to shape your sound from the incredibly complex to the intricately nuanced, then the maker of Atom, Riffer and Opacity plugins has just the thing for you.
Audiomodern has designed a modern motion filter called Filterstep, which also happens to be free to download on Mac, PC and iOS.
With the sequencer and various different filter settings, such as resonance, smoothness, type and range, you’re able to generate filter grooves in realtime.
Despite being able to create complex rhythms and textures, the user interface is anything but. Parameter control is straightforward with everything you need in one window - no menu-diving.
One of Filterstep’s greatest strengths is the combination of being able to quickly produce new filter patterns quickly with the dice button and constantly evolve those patterns, over time, with the infinite switch, changing the groove at a time of your choosing.
The plugin also affords you full control over each individual step with the ability to adjust the frequency, lock the step, preventing any changes, and bypass the step altogether.
The sequencer as a whole is flexible and you’re able to select the direction of motion, length, quantisation and nudge the whole pattern either left or right.
It has been designed with performance in mind and features controls that allow you to easily save and recall presets, with customisable preset hot buttons.
