GUITAR SHOWCASE 2022: At PJD Guitars are produced  we have built an enviable reputation for superb craftsmanship at highly compelling price points.

All PJD instruments are built from scratch in our workshop in the historic city of York in the UK with premium tone woods and top notch components, including Gotoh hardware, Bare Knuckle and Cream T pickups and stunning nitro finishes.

Core to the PJD line-up are three core body shapes: the single-cut Carey, the beautiful St. John offset and the Woodford double-cutaway.

These beautiful builds are available in Standard, Elite and, occasionally, Limited Edition models; with an array of pickups, chambering and figured wood options at your disposal.

Carey

The stunning PJD Carey Standard is our entry level Carey guitar.

Made with all the attention to detail you would expect but with a little less of the embellishment of the Carey Elite or Limited. The Carey Standard features a chambered American Ash body, paired with an American Ash top and comes with or without an F hole. The neck is made from roasted maple, with a custom neck profile based on a standard "C" shape.

The guitar is finished in Candy Floss Pink, Light Blue, Light Green, Midnight Black, Aspen White or Peacock Blue and is supplied with a hard case and PJD certificate of authenticity.

About PJD Guitars

PJD Guitars was founded in 2010 by Leigh Dovey. The name PJD is dedicated to the memory of Leigh's late father who was prop maker for the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden.

Leigh started working with knowledge of wood work picked up from his father and was fortunate enough to inherit his tools as well as a small home workshop.

Leigh spent his days working as a sound and video engineer at the Royal Opera House and his evenings honing his craft in guitar building. Leigh was lucky early on in having the chance to work with some great artists, giving him the confidence to grow his skills.

Fast forward to 2017 and a move up to York to a bigger workshop, and for the past 5 years Leigh has been putting his heart and soul into building the best instruments he's ever built. Standardising his prototype models like the Carey and St John, Leigh now has more models in development and wants to bring even more British hand made PJD guitars to the guitar industry.

The PJD Carey Elite, Carey Standard, Woodford Standard and St. John Standard – have all received a 9/10 reviews in Guitarist magazine (UK).
