MusicRadar has 20 autographed copies of Mark Tremonti's hit guitar instructional DVD The Sound And The Story and we're offering you the chance to win one.
"With this DVD, I've had the opportunity to realize one of my greatest dreams," says Tremonti, guitarist for Alter Bridge and (once again) Creed.
"I didn't want to do your typical instructional session where you just learn a bunch of licks and tricks - although we do have those too. I wanted to document what it really takes to play the guitar and write songs, plus I wanted to break down solos and explain what makes them work."
Tremonti is elated at the reaction he's received from fans and fellow guitar stars. "Everybody has said, 'This is exactly what I've always wanted in a guitar DVD.' Belong the lessons, we explore live rigs, there's a great introduction from Paul Reed Smith, and I spotlight some of myf avorite players, whom I'm proud to say are friends as well."
Those friends include fellow Alter Bridge member Myles Kennedy ("people will be blown away to hearwhat a great guitarist he is," says Tremonti), Michael Angelo Batio, Rusty Cooley, Troy Stetina and Bill Peck.
"I wish there was an instructional course like this when I was learning to play," says Tremonti. "That was my thinking when putting it together: 'What would I have wanted when I was a kid?'"
Tremonti's company, Fret12, run by his brother, Daniel, is already planning a second installent of The Sound And The Story, this one featuring guitar legends Leslie West, Zakk Wylde and a special guest to be named soon. "Let's just say he's one of the biggest and best around," says Tremonti."That's all I can divulge right now."

Joe is a freelance journalist who has, over the past few decades, interviewed hundreds of guitarists for Guitar World, Guitar Player, MusicRadar and Classic Rock. He is also a former editor of Guitar World, contributing writer for Guitar Aficionado and VP of A&R for Island Records. He’s an enthusiastic guitarist, but he’s nowhere near the likes of the people he interviews. Surprisingly, his skills are more suited to the drums. If you need a drummer for your Beatles tribute band, look him up.
