Van Halen: Anthony Out, Wolfgang In…
Incredibly, it´s been officially confirmed that long-time VH bassist Michael Anthony has been ousted from the fold and replaced by Wolfgang Van Halen, the 15 year old son of guitar wizard Edward.
Speaking to Guitar World, Ed said: "Wolfgang breathes new life into what we're doing. He brings youthfulness to something that's inherently youthful. He's only been playing bass for three months, but it's spooky. He's locked tight and puts an incredible spin on our shit. The kid is kicking my ass!”
Rehearsals are also apparently taking place for a tour in 2007 with none other than David Lee Roth fronting proceedings, although the latter has yet to make a final commitment. Maybe Jan Van Halen, Ed and drummer Alex´s father, who played clarinet on a track from 1982's Diver Down album, will step up…
