Seymour Duncan Phat Staple

If Blogs are intended to be the whimsical whitterings by web users to be utilised to blithely inform their fellow men and women just how cool they are, then allow me the indulgence to do just that.

You may have noticed an introductory posting regarding a customising feature we´re planning (read it here if not...). Well, the pickups I ordered came today. Whoopee-do, but they're wholly worthy of worship here as they're a matched set of Alnico V Seymour Duncan Phat Staples.

So? Well, they've been hand-wound in Duncan´s lauded Santa Barbara custom shop...for me...by Seymour himself...OMG!

Yes, I am one lucky mother-trucker....maggot farmer...twunt...whatever.

Look at 'em, will ya! Image (C) Simon Bradley (Too excited to focus...sorry)

Go on, order a pickup or two via Duncan´s custom shop and although we can´t promise Seymour himself will be sat at the winder, you´ll have some of the greatest, most toneful and best made pickups money can buy.

Did I pay for them? Erm...well...that's for me to know and for you to assume that I didn't... :-)

Simon Bradley is a guitar and especially rock guitar expert who worked for Guitarist magazine and has in the past contributed to world-leading music and guitar titles like MusicRadar (obviously), Guitarist, Guitar World and Louder. What he doesn't know about Brian May's playing and, especially, the Red Special, isn't worth knowing.
