Album eight sessions have begun

Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood has revealed that the band have already begun work on their eighth studio album, the follow-up to 2007's In Rainbows.

Speaking to the BBC, Greenwood said: "We just went in last week. It was really good. It was really noisy and chaotic and really fun.

"We're at the stage where we've got the big Lego box out and we've tipped it out on the floor and we're looking at all the bits and thinking, what next?"

Longtime producer Nigel Godrich will man the desk again, but Greenwood explained that the band had no plans yet with regard to the new album's release: "We've got lots of ideas but we don't decide what we're going to do until we've finished the thing. It's all up in the air, but it was up in the air last time."

Last time of course, Radiohead's 'pay what you want' web release sparked widespread controversy and criticism in the music industry.

Greenwood also said that it was too early to say whether or not any new material would feature on the setlists for their Reading and Leeds festival headline shows in August. However, in the past the band have often previewed new material live long before its official release, so we wouldn't rule the possibility out.
