Epiphone has announced the release of the Slash Les Paul Classic Goldtop Outfit. The package will be hand-signed by Slash himself and strictly limited to 2,000 guitars worldwide.

The latest in a series of Gibson and Epiphone Slash signature instruments, like the Slash Les Paul Standard Plus Top, the Goldtop features a long neck tenon, a LockTone bridge and tailpiece, Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II pickups and the 'Slash Custom' neck profile.

In addition, the limited edition package includes a hard case with a custom Slash logo, a hand-numbered certificate of authenticity signed by Slash and a limited edition HD laser-cell print of the former Guns N' Roses star.

"My new Epiphone signature model is a great playing, sounding and looking guitar. For the money it's one of the best guitars you can buy."

The certificate and the laser-cell come in a leatherette presentation binder with the Slash logo embossed in gold on the cover. Also included are a custom Slash-inspired leather strap and 24 Slash picks.

As if you needed convincing any further, the Velvet Revolver guitarist comments: "My new Epiphone signature model is a great playing, sounding and looking guitar. For the money it's one of the best guitars you can buy."

The Epiphone Slash Les Paul Classic Goldtop Outfit is released worldwide on 1 October, with street prices expected to be around £700 in the UK and $999 in the US.

well to be fair quite a few guitars start life as "signature" models then become basic production! the McCarty (kind of Mr McCarty), PRS Singlecut (designed with Mark Tremonti). OKay thats two but i'm sure there are more!

Jeez how many signature guitars is Slash going to release, or should that be how many signature-signature guitars.. I really can't get past the fact that the Les Paul is already a signature guitar.
