We’re big fans of PreSonus’ home recording products, such as their recent Studio One 5 Professional DAW. But sometimes you want to record on the go – any time, any place. And for that, say hello to your new little friend, the PreSonus AudioBox GO.

An ultra-compact 2x2 USB audio interface, the AudioBox GO is the smallest, lightest and most mobile audio interface in the PreSonus range. (At $79.95 US, it’s also the most affordable.) Which means you can throw it in your guitar case or laptop bag, and then pull it out quick and easy to record your guitar at rehearsal... or recording vocals in a super-reverberant stairwell or bathroom... or outside on a street corner... or basically anywhere that strikes your fancy and sparks your creativity.

The interface comes equipped with an XLR combo Microphone/Line input with XMAX-L preamp, bus power, and a TS Instrument input, and you can even record a microphone and a guitar at the same time. It also connects with headphones and pro studio monitors for easy functionality in a laptop-based studio setup, and the headphone output provides a Mix control to easily blend between software and hardware monitoring.

Additionally, AudioBox GO comes with a free license for PreSonus’ Studio One Prime DAW for a complete recording solution, and features Studio Magic instruments, plug-ins and tutorials. The included version of Prime is also enabled to work with all Studio Magic products.

As for audio quality, AudioBox GO can record at sampling rates up to 24-bit, 96 kHz, and the XMAX-L Class A solid state mic preamp is ideal for a variety of mics and includes switchable +48 phantom power for condenser mics and direct boxes, as well as 50 dB of gain.

What does all this mean? That the AudioBox GO is a one-stop, ultra-affordable and portable recording interface that combines studio-quality fidelity and features with super-straightforward functionality. And it plays nicely with Android and Apple mobile devices, as well as laptops and desktop computers.

Essentially, if you're a musician on the move or just starting out recording, the AudioBox GO is your “go-to” companion wherever and whenever you want to capture the magic.
