How to transform your guitar licks with chromatic passing tones

Playing chromatic passing tones can enable you to make fast and fluid runs in your guitar solos and licks using open strings. In this video tutorial Grammy Award-winning Elixir® Strings artist Massimo Varini breaks down three different approaches with guitar tab for you to follow.

Massimo shows you how to start slowly and build up with the hugely effective way to integrate passing tones into your playing with examples taken from his own compositions Gate 18 and A22.  He shows how to use the technique as both a suspension and a resolution in your playing before the final "powerful and fast" alternate picking example.
