Could the new Kali Audio IN-5s be the most ideal monitors for home studios?

Kali Audio may well be a relatively new company, but it has made serious inroads in the market with good quality monitoring at an affordable price with the recently released IN-8 monitors.

However, for some producers, the prospect of trying to house monitors with 8” drivers may be impossible due to a lack of space, so it’s just as well that Kali Audio has addressed this particular issue with the arrival of the new three-way IN-5 monitors.

The IN-5s deliver still incredible quality, just like their larger siblings, but in a far smaller footprint, which will benefit smaller studios and bedroom producers and also at a price that cannot be ignored.

Having been in development for the past two years has meant that the manufacturer has been able to refine IN-5s to not only fit physically but deliver, sonically, in small environments. The monitors now deliver 12dB lower self-noise than the IN-8s, thus reducing fatigue and have a smaller recommended minimum listening distance of just 20cm.

To achieve this, the IN-5s feature a new amplifier that features improved processing power, allowing for a greater number of EQ bands which, in turn, gives further fine-tuning of the monitor’s response.

The IN-5 monitors are available now, priced at $349/£349/€349 and you can find more information and detailed specs on the Kali Audio website.
