PRS is a revered high-end, boutique guitar manufacturer, founded by US luthier Paul Reed Smith in Maryland, in 1985. Everything about PRS guitars exudes quality, from the flame and quilted maple tops and crafted mahogany bodies, to the pickups, that are designed and wound in-house.

The specific design and production of the PRS pickups is kept a close secret by the company. Innovative bridge and vibrato system design have further helped to establish the distinguished reputation of these guitars.

In addition to electric guitars and basses, PRS also produces highly regarded high-end acoustics, such as the Tonare Grand and Angelus, instruments that have attracted the likes of artists such as Martin Simpson.
