Singular Sound’s BeatBuddy 2 is here, your drummer just got an upgrade
Capture every nuance of real drums, with more control than ever

From the start, the original BeatBuddy solved a problem every musician knows well: having a drummer you can rely on. BeatBuddy changed that by putting a drummer on standby at your feet. More than 150,000 musicians lean on the award-winning pedal for practice, songwriting, and live performance, making it one of the most widely used drum pedals in the world.
Now, BeatBuddy 2 takes that foundation and redefines what a drum machine pedal can do. Built with more realism, more intelligence, and more control, its thoughtful design makes it feel even more like a new bandmate than the original.
Autopilot is the feature that changes everything. Songs arranged with it run through their parts automatically, moving seamlessly through verses, choruses, and bridges without extra footwork. The clever part is that Autopilot doesn’t take control away. Fills, accents, breaks, and pauses are still at your command, so you can step in at any moment to improvise on the fly. And it never misses a beat.
The sonic upgrade of BeatBuddy 2 is immediately noticeable. The new HD drum sets are up to four times the size of the originals, and that extra depth translates directly into authenticity. Kick drums carry natural weight, snares have extra punch, and cymbals fade with the kind of shimmer you’d expect from a real kit in the room.
Out of the box, BeatBuddy 2 comes with 13 drum sets and more than 230 songs across 23 genres, but the storage capacity goes much further. With room for up to 320 drum sets and 3.2 million songs on the included SD card, there’s space to expand almost without limit.
The big leap in control is BeatBuddy 2’s compatibility with the all-new SuperSwitch. Most multi-button controllers only allow one command at a time.
The SuperSwitch uses a proprietary multi-button signal protocol, unlocking precise, simultaneous control of multiple functions. You can pause and trigger an accent hit together, or switch parts and drop in a fill at the same time, all without breaking your flow. Direct jumps to song parts, half-time or double-time shifts, stacked accent hits, and even full setlist navigation are all possible. For live players, it means running an entire show hands-free and staying locked on your instrument instead of your pedals.
To take it even further, BeatBuddy 2’s expression pedal support brings another layer of finesse. Slowly speed up or slow down the beat, change how hard the drummer is playing with velocity control or fade out the drums with volume control.
Pair BeatBuddy 2 with the Aeros Gold Edition looper, and the result is a full-band experience. The two pedals lock together in real time, keeping drums and loops perfectly in sync. BeatBuddy 2 drives the rhythm while the Aeros layers harmonies, riffs, and textures on top. It’s a powerhouse combo, equally at home in a recording session or on stage.
Creating your own custom beats is easier than you think. The brand new BeatBuddy Manager Online (BBMO) is a browser-based app with a clean MIDI-style editor that makes building beats simple. Once your set is ready, drop it onto the SD card, slot it back into the pedal, and you’re ready to play.
Beyond the pedal itself, Singular Sound has built an ecosystem to keep players inspired. The Singular Sound Forum hosts thousands of players trading ideas, giving you a constant stream of new inspiration. The Beat Boutique adds to that with an ever-growing library of drum sets and songs recorded by real drummers in professional studios.
Between the community and the catalog, you’ll never run out of ways to expand your BeatBuddy 2. It’s all part of Singular Sound’s commitment to getting every detail right. And if BeatBuddy 2 hasn’t replaced your drummer yet, at least keep one on your board for the next time they don’t show up.
