Unique Beats Festival comes to Edinburgh - workshops, performances and more!

Lee du-Caine, Fri 8 May 2009, 12:35 pm BST

Electronica-obsessed online community Unique Beats are soon to hold their first all-day festival at the Roxy Arthouse, Edinburgh. Taking place on Saturday 30 May 2009 between 12 noon and 11pm, the event will comprise product demonstrations and workshops, performances from local electronic acts, and the chance to win loads of music-making goodies, including copies of Cakewalk Sonar 8 Producer Edition and Propellerhead Reason 4.

As for the workshops, several big-name companies will be showing you how to get the most from their products. On the software side, you can look forward to learning more about Ableton Live 8, Propellerhead Reason 4 and Steinberg Cubase 5. As for the hard stuff, Native Instruments will be showing off Maschine, Akai will be demonstrating the APC40 Ableton Controller and Cakewalk will be showcasing their V-Studio technology.

Live performances come courtesy of Christ, Frog Pocket, Joe Acheson Quartet, ESPion, Morphamish and many more. There will also be video performances from The Amazing Rolo and Melvitronica.

Tickets are a mere £5 advance, so for more information about the event and to book your tickets, head to the website: www.uniquebeats.co.uk
