Listen to tracks from her album

As everybody surely knows, Scarlett Johansson is the sexiest woman alive. But whereas many women would be thrilled to hold such a title, Johansson wants more. What she really wants is to sing, and she's doing so on her new album, Anywhere I Lay My Head.
What's immediately interesting is that the record isn't the expected repository for the likes of Stargate and their ilk; rather, it's made up entirely of Tom Waits covers. And Johansson has attracted major cred players such as TV On The Radio's Dave Sitek, who produced, and David Bowie, who contributes vocals to two tracks, Falling Down and Fannin Street.
For his part, Bowie waxes enthusiastic as to Johansson's skills behind a mic. "Scarlett's performances are mystical and twice cool," he says. "She creates a mood that could have been summoned by someone like Margery Latimer or Jeanette Winterson."
Which is exactly what we were thinking, especially while staring at the photo above. But the big question is, What do you think? Rhino Records and Atco Entertainment have released six of Johansson's tracks for an exclusive preview. Check them out and tell us your thoughts. If you can pull yourself away from the photo, that is.
