Chicago house is legendary in dance circles, being the earliest form of house music there is.
The genre is typified by bouncy bass sounds, and in the video tutorial above, you'll find out how to create one using a free synth: Togu Audio Line's snappily-named TAL-U-No-62 (click here to download).
This is based on Roland's Juno-60 synth, the predecessor to the classic Juno-106, so should be capable of giving us the authentic early '80s vibe we're looking for.
