feature in a star-packed new film telling the story of legendary record producer and maverick musical genius
Meek was the creator of a string of Number 1 hits in the early 60s including ‘Telstar´ - the biggest selling record of its time and the first British single ever to top the US charts.
Hollywood stars Kevin Spacey and Ralf Little also make Telstar, directed and co-written by 'Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels' star Nick Moran, one of the most talked about films of the year.
Meek´s band The Tornados were massive in the 60s, thanks to his weird and wonderful recordings that earned him iconic status in the world of British pop until depression, heartbreak and paranoia ultimately led to a cataclysmic downfall.
Telstar's period soundtrack includes a specially commissioned cover by Duffy of The Cryin´ Shames´ ‘Please Stay´, and it is out in selected cinemas now rated 15.
