It was announced today (June 19) that Oasis have entered into a new three-album deal in partnership with Sony BMG.

Under terms of the agreement, Oasis's own Big Brother Recordings will issue the band's new albums in a profit-sharing arrangement with the major label. Additionally, Big Brother will distribute and market the group's back catalog in all major markets worldwide.

Since the dissolution of Creation Records, Oasis have released all of their albums on Big Brother Recordings. Those albums include Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe The Truth.

"Oasis are in complete control of their destiny and could have chosen to sign with anyone, or even go it alone," said Ged Doherty, Chairman and CEO of Sony BMG Music Entertainment UK, "so I am delighted that they have chosen to continue to work with us."

Oasis management principal Alex McKinlay had this to say: "This allows the band to take advantage of all the opportunities presented by the new business models available today as well as remaining totally in control of their own destiny."

Oasis's seventh, as-yet-untitled album, is expected before year's end.
