Following on from the Jimi Hendrix Edition of IK Multimedia's excellent AmpliTube modelling plug-in, the latest version of the software is dedicated entirely to heavy metal.

With an arsenal of modelled gear spanning from the late 1970s through to the 1990s, there is a total of 36 amplifier and stompbox models, 32 high gain amplifier combinations and eight modelled rack effects that cater for everything from eighties hairspray rawk to bowel-loosening downtuned mayhem.

The intuitive AmpliTube interface remains, and for $249/€199, AmpliTube Metal also integrates with existing versions of the software such as Ampeg SVX and AmpliTube 2.
