On Wednesday (7 October) 30 shiny, glass MIA awards were handed out to the people, products and companies who've excelled themselves over the past year in the music instrument industry.

Gear wise, 2009's ceremony paid tribute to the likes of the Squier Classic Vibe '60s Strat, Fender Road Worn Series, Martin 1 Series, Tama Starclassic Performer, Akai APC40 and M-Audio Axiom Keyboard. However, it was the Best New Product category that MusicRadar was most excited about. Why? Because we sponsored it!

Following Ask MusicRadar's question - what's the best new music-making product of 2009? - you chose a shortlist of the nine most innovative pieces of kit we'd seen this year. Then, with an impressive 28% of the public vote, we had a winner: Korg's nanoSeries (nanoPad, nanoKontrol and nanoKey).

The nanoPad: one of the victorious trio

Speaking to MusicRadar, Korg's Managing Director, Rob Castle, was suitably chuffed: "The Nanos have been a great success and we are particularly proud of the Best New Product award as it was voted for by members of the public." He means you, people!

Full list of winners after the jump.
