Prepare for the Big Bang: Pearl Day 2008, featuring Moose and Jimmy Degrasso!

In addition to manufacturing some of the finest drum kits ever created, Pearl has long been synonymous with the biggest names in international drumming. And on 1 June, they'll be bringing a cluster of those drumming gods together in Nottingham for Pearl Day 2008, the second annual drum show combining astounding performers, awesome gear exhibitions, workshops and masterclasses suitable for drummers aged 1 to 100.

The line-up taking over the two main stages and Performance Hall at the East Midlands Conference Centre reads like a drumming hall of fame, compered by Ian Palmer and taking in Robin Guy, Jerry Brown, Jimmy Degrasso, Ian Paice, Dan Foord (SikTh), Adam Perry (A/ The Bloodhound Gang), Michael 'Moose' Thomas (Bullet For My Valentine) and Darrin Mooney (Primal Scream), just for starters.

Hands-on samba and Latin percussion masterclasses from the legendary British percussionist Lea Mullen will take place throughout the day, along with tuning workshops hosted by Simon Jayes, the man who not only gets Pearl endorsees' kits tour-ready but who's the tech on auto-dial for A-list drummers all over the world.

The Vision Stage will host a range of popular artists, who'll be putting Pearl's new Vision series through its paces by performing their own tracks and demonstrating the series' outstanding qualities for the stage's up-close-and-personal audiences. And if you want to have a bash yourself, you can set up camp in Pearl's dedicated Sound Test area - a first for any drum event - in which you'll get the chance to play a range of Pearl products including Reference and Vision kits, snares and percussion from across the Pearl range - without once being told to keep the noise down!
