New hardware synth fits in the palm of your hand
The bc8 is a new doughnut-sized circular synth that you use to make music anywhere. Designed to fit in the palm of your hand, it has its own pattern sequencer and can be controlled using eight knobs.
Developed by Chimera Synthesis, the device is powered by three AAA batteries and has a 3.5mm stereo output. The built-in DSP generates a VCO and an LFO, while there's also an envelope generator and a filter.
The knobs enable you to tweak all the aforementioned parameters and the sequencer is controlled by a button.
Priced at £75 (plus delivery), the bc8 will start rolling out of the Chimera factory next week. Only 100 units will be released initially – if you want one you can get in touch with Chimera via its website.
