FIRST TEST: Steinberg Cubase 5

DAW update installed and used

Steinberg's long-awaited overhaul of its Cubase DAW was launched at January's Winter NAMM show, and our friends over at Computer Music have been putting the software through its paces.

Following his initial report from the show floor, Lee du-Caine has now tested a few more of the new features, including the PitchCorrect plug-in, the virtual MIDI keyboard (this seems to have been lifted from Steinberg's Sequel 2 app), the Automation panel and the much vaunted VST Expression technology.

Various other tweaks have been made, too – check out the Computer Music blog for all the details.

MusicRadar will bring you an in-depth review of Cubase 5 in due course.
