Eminem goes for "insane beats" on new album, Relapse

Em's memoir hits stores this week

Four years after his last studio album, Marshall Mathers - you know, Slim Shady - you know, Eminem! - is returing in major way, with a bold new album, Relapse, the product of almost half a year spent in the studio with producer Dr. Dre.

Speaking to BBC Radio, Eminem said, "For the last five months I've been working pretty much straight with Dre. There's going to be a lot of material, more so than I've had on an album with him producing before.

"Obviously his beats are insane, but aside from that I can rap, I can write and not worry about what the beat has to sound like and how loud a snare drum is. All those things are taken care of for me. I feel like a spoiled rapper. I get to pick and choose everything."

Fame? Been there, done that

Eminem said that he has no plans to tour at present and, referring to his previous success, has "no desire to be that big again."

When asked about his voting plans for next month, Eminem didn't hesitate to say that he would vote for Barack Obama. "I know we're going into a recession and pardon the cliche, but we need something to change. I think Barack would be a breath of fresh air to get what's left of the Bush administration out the door."

While there is no firm release date for Relapse, it is expected to drop by the end of the year. Already the MC has issued a single, I'm Having A Relapse. And if that weren't enough, Eminem has also published his memoir, The Way I Am.
