NAMM 2008: Tech 21 showcases new SansAmps

Stompbox solutions for guitarists and bassists

Winter NAMM 2008 saw Tech 21 launch new SansAmp pedals for guitar and bass.

The analogue Character Series consists of five new pedals: Blonde, British, California, Liverpool and VT Bass.

Each unit generates a range of sounds based on Fender, Marshall, Mesa/Boogie, Vox and Ampeg amplifiers respectively.

Like Tech 21's other SansAmp variants, the Character Series models can be used as standalone preamps or traditional stompboxes. All include individually tuned speaker emulation, three-band active equalisation and retail at $195 (US).

Alongside the Character Series, the NAMM show also saw Tech 21 showcase its new SansAmp Bass Driver Deluxe ($350). With six user-programmable sounds, dual inputs and an FX loop, it offers pro-level flexibility and a range of voices to suit old-school and modern bassists.
