NAMM 2008: Peavey unleashes monster metal guitars
Peavey have announced a new guitar line at NAMM 2008: the PXD series of guitars for modern metal players. The series aims to capture the aggression and attitude that typifies that genre, and all guitars will be "built for speed, slicing leads and razor-sharp riffs."
The series, inspired by modern metallers such as Trivium and Machine Head, comprises four different guitars, the Tomb, Twenty-Three, Tragic and Void models. All four are constructed from mahogany and sport active pickups: either Peavey's own high-output VFLs, or EMGs coupled with an EMG-AB afterburner circuit which delivers an input gain boost of up to 20dB.
We're promised various features across the range, including Kahler tremolo or string-through bridges, Coffin Cases, and a satin black finish complete with aged aluminium pickguard.
The Peavey PXD series debuts in Q2 2008, and prices range from $399 to $899.
