NAMM 2008: Marshall unveil Randy Rhoads amp

Cascading gain and a cool white finish...

Alongside updates to the JVM series, Marshall's major NAMM announcement was the launch of a Randy Rhoads signature amp.

The 1959RR Super Lead model is a 100-watt, EL34-driven rock monster, with a modified cascading gain circuit based on the customised Marshall 1959SLP heads beloved of Ozzy Osbourne's ill-fated guitar sideman.

Pricing and availability is still to be announced, but what's not to like about a white Marshall Super Lead stack?

Check out this YouTube video in which Korg USA/Marshall's Nick Bowcott - formerly of eighties metal outfit Grim Reaper - explains the background behind the amplifier.
