Michael Jackson records new album of Burns poetry, Gest guests

According to Scottish tabloid reports, Michael Jackson has collaborated with David Gest on an album of Robert Burns poetry.

Gest, arguably most famous for being Liza Minnelli's ex-husband and a UK reality television star, spoke to the Daily Record about his and buddy Michael's shared love for all things Robert Burns:

"Our favourite poet in the world is Robbie Burns. Michael and I were originally going to do a musical on his life with Gene Kelly directing and Anthony Perkins as executive producer – but they both died.

"So Michael and I put all the poems to contemporary music in his studio in Encino. We did Ae Fond Kiss, Tam O'Shanter and all that. We turned his work into show tunes. It is beautiful and I still have the recordings."

"It is beautiful and I still have the recordings."

Whether or not the recordings will ever see the light of day in the form of a commercial release is debatable, but as yet there has been no official comment from Sony.

Apparently there are 'other top artists' involved too. We can't wait to hear it.
