Led Zeppelin to tour with Alter Bridge frontman?
Ready for another wacky Led Zeppelin rumor? This one comes from noted Zep historian and authority Dee Snider - you know, the Twisted Sister screamer who isn't gonna take it - who says the band is going to tour with...are you ready?...Alter Bridge's frontman.
That would be one Myles R. Kennedy, who has recorded two albums with Alter Bridge, the Scott Stapp-less Creed.
Snider, who shares management with Robert Plant effusively states that Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Jason Bonham are all set to hit the road with Kennedy if Plant maintains his stance not to tour with the band.
"They're saying [to Robert], 'We're all rehearsed, we're ready to go, here's a gazillion dollars on the table," Snider claims. "If you don't do it, we're going out with this kid. And he can sing the shit out of Zeppelin.' And they're gonna, like, hope that Robert, at the last minute, will go, 'OK,' and step in, before having the lead singer of Alter Bridge out with John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Jason Bonham."
It's getting silly, folks
MusicRadar is of the view that this Led Zeppelin business is getting more ridiculous with each passing week. What next? David Coverdale? (yawn) The dude who tried to sound like Robert Plant in Kingdom Come? (yikes!) The singer from Great White? (double-yikes!) Adam Sandler? (Now, that just might work!)
Look, it's very simple: either Robert Plant does it or he doesn't. That's our take on the matter.
Meanwhile, here's the video of Dee Snider from MuchMoreMusic.
