Bruce Springsteen to play five last-ever Giants Stadium shows
Bruce Springsteen And The E Street Band were scheduled to play the last-ever concerts at New Jersey's Giants Stadium on 30 September, 2 and 3 October. But those dates sold out so fast that two more dates have been added.
The new dates, which will then be the final concerts at the famed venue before it faces demolition (to make way for a larger stadium right next door), will be 8 and 9 October.
Giants Stadium has a capacity of 80,000, so Bruce And The E Street Band will play to a total of 400,000, give or take, for these five concerts.
Tickets for these last shows go on sale Monday 8 June at noon US EST at Ticketmaster.com.
Aeriel view of Giants Stadium
Opened in 1976, Giants Stadium has hosted Bruce Springsteen numerous times, including a 10-night run during The Rising tour of 2003.
The Boss is clearly looking forward to the fall gigs. At the last night of his just-ended US tour at the Izod Center (part of the Giants Stadium complex), he promised the crowd the band would be back "to say goodbye to old Giants Stadium. Before they bring the wrecking ball, the wrecking crew is coming back!"
