Basone Guitars debuts the Fenix model
If you're looking for a handcrafted guitar that will call attention to itself the second you pull it out of the case (as a handcrafted guitar would certainly do), the new Basone Fenix model might be what you're after.
From the looks of things, the Fenix electric guitar is a bespoke thing of beauty. Its features include a Honduran mahogany body with quilted maple top and matching pickguard, flamed maple neck and lacewood headstock, an Alnico pro-tube lipstick pickup in the neck position and a humbucker-sized P90 in the bridge. Its fingerboard is 23 frets and has a scale length of 25- 7/15 inches. As is the case with all new Basones, this model is equipped with Sperzel locking tuners and Superbridge, a high-performance bridge and saddle system from GraphTech and TonePro Labs.
To order a Fenix model, you could drop in at BoneRattle Music or Not Just Another Music Shop -- of course, that's if you happen to be in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Barring that, you can visit the official Basone Guitars website and investigate their ordering information. The price of the Basone Fenix starts at CAD$1200 (customization is available).
