MusicRadar’s verdict:

It took FXpansion a surprisingly long time to get into the commercial soft synth market, but when it finally did, it was with a collection of three instruments (plus a shell that enables you to layer them up, add effects and more).

The instruments in question are Strobe (an analogue-style subtractive model), Amber (for creating string machine sounds) and Cypher (a versatile beast that specialises in audio-rate modulation).

DCAM is full of nice touches - there’s a particularly impressive modulation system -and, taken as a whole, can produce a wide range of awesome sounds. It can be complex, but get to know it and you’ll have a synth friend for life.

  • Circuit RecordingsThese days, Synth Software are endless in dance music from house, dubstep, drum n bass or techno. On protool I use most of the above and even use vstation as bass. Depending how you feel in your mind of what type of element of synth you want to use depending what kind of tune you want to produce, Believe me or not, when you use synth like tone2 or what, you always change your music at that moment rather than what's originally in your head in the first place. Rob papen, spectrasonic and native has always been on top of the game, But others has joined the top marks such as refx, fxpansion, lennar digital, tone2 and others. my best synth are endless because they all do different things.
