This is a G major arpeggio sequence divided into four sections. Using the third, fourth and fifth strings the sweep-picked patterns are in one position followed by a five-string sweep across two positions. Pay close attention to the fingering as these licks are not conventional - make sure you follow the picking suggestions and any hammer-ons and pull-offs.

Damn, that's fast. A bit too fast if you ask me, when you start sweeping that fast it sounds like a horrible mess.
Hey shredman you're right he's pretty fast but my personal favourite sweep picker is Jason Becker. Check out his hotlicks DVD or you tube
insane..
Oh my God. That's insanely fast. I've never seen sweeping that fast, thats as fast as Vai!
listen to the notes as he plays them slowly and forget about the tab learning by ear will make you a better learner (if that makes sense).its not a theory overload but the head work is fun to do for the out come.
Ok here is how it goes since the tab is unavailable to most people (it was tabbed in Guitar Techniques #128 as part of a larger workout) Like Rusty says its a large Gmajor (G B D - 1 3 5) arpeggio so asuming your in standard concert pitch tuning, you can figure it out. It starts on the 10th fret of the A string (G/1) hammering on to the 14th (B/3), then sweeping up to the G on the G string (12th fret) via the 12th fret on the D (D/5) with two downstrokes.
Then with an upstroke and a pull off, he plays the 16th fret of the G string (B/3) and the G again. After this, he returns down to the original G via the same frets, each time the arpeggio rises he goes to one note higher each time, the first time, which I explained, is the B, then he goes to the D, then G, then finally up to the B on the 19th fret of the top E string and back to the original G note. Since he only uses those 3 notes: G B D, I think you can figure the rest out, the first three parts are 1 note per string exept the ends of the arpeggio where he turns around. The final ascending section and following descent are 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 notes per string from the A string to the E string. As for the pull offs, when there are 3 notes on a string he pulls off the final one only, and when there are 2 he pulls of the 2nd one. Hope this helps, and have fun shredding.
Hi everyone. The tab should be in the picture gallery, although it sometimes doesn't display. We're working on it though, so enjoy the rest of the videos in the meantime. There's more coming soon!
can't see any tab either
Am i the only person here who thinks that was a little too fast? I didn't sound good and you could never put that kind of thing into a song...
I'm a guy who likes metal and stuff, so I sort of want to know how to sweep. But I can't because the video tells you nothing about what fret its on or where to hammer on, so maybe you guys should add tab or something so guys like us who really want to sweep pick can follow.
