The No.1 website for musicians
The original metal guitar tone could be yours

In our latest competition we're UK readers the chance to win a Laney Ironheart head and cab, worth over a grand.
With the help of Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi, Laney Amplification played a big part in the invention of heavy guitar tones. It may have deviated from metal over the past few years, but now Laney's returned to its roots with the new Ironheart series and we've teamed up with the British amp maker to offer TG readers the chance to bag one.
The Ironheart IRT60H is a 60-watt head with three channels (Clean, Rhythm and Lead), a preamp boost and digital reverb. The tone controls feature push/pull pots for maximum tone shaping and the whole amp centres around four ECC83 preamp valves, plus a pair of 6L6 power amp valves.
To complete the set-up, Laney is also supplying a matching IRT412 speaker cab loaded with 4x12-inch custom-designed HH speakers. Together, they add up to a blistering high-gain metal rig!
For your chance to win the amp, just head to www.futurecomps.co.uk/tg224Laney and answer the following question before 18 March.
How many amps are in the Ironheart range?
A) One
B) Three
C) Five
