In a recent interview with Attitude TV, Korn guitarist James 'Munky' Shaffer has revealed that original Korn drummer David Silveria (who took a 'break' from the band three years ago to manage a string of restaurants), will probably never return to the band.
Shaffer said: "I heard he sold every single drum he owns... or he gave it away. He doesn't even own a drum stick. I mean, it blows me away... Wow, one of the best drummers I've ever played with and I think a lot of people have ever heard. Just to go... 180 [degrees].
"The music business can be dirty and some people can endure it and some people just don't want anything to do with it once something bad has happened to them."
It's a pretty shock departure for Silveria. He was suffering from wrist problems before he left the band three years ago, so this may be a contributing factor. Either that, or perhaps the sushi and steakhouse world is where his heart really lies...
David Silveria quits Korn, and drums, for good!
