Babyshambles drummer says the band will continue to write without Pete

Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek has told NME this week that the band are ploughing on with plans for their new album, despite frontman Pete Doherty haveing been incarcerated for fourteen weeks. Ficek says the band already have demos of songs for the new album, and that they plan to meet with producer Stephen Street (producer of second album 'Shotter's Nation') to discuss him producing the new long player even in Doherty's absence.

"We stick together, stay positive and keep the music alive," Ficek told the NME. "Just before I went on holiday we reconvened and gave Peter a new CD full of songs to start demo-ing for the new album. Mik [Whitnall, guitar] had gone into the studio and put down guitar parts and ideas. I definitely think we'll have a new album out at the end of this year or early next year. The 'Shambles ship will stay on course. This [Doherty's jail time] is a real bad thing for a friend, but he's going to be fine".
