Dennis was born in Cleveland, OH and resides in Atlanta, GA.
After moving from Cleveland, Ohio as a young boy with his parents; Dennis found that rural Ohio didn't hold much of a future beside working fast food. Dennis decided when he was young to start his focus on music. He began with simple electronic equipment, back then it was Sinsonic drums and a commodore 64. Dennis worked with what music was out in the early 80s, he began his journey. Fascinated by the new wave/New Romantics sounds coming from overseas he started there. Finding new ways to create and mix music, he would take vinyl and tapes to splice together new mixes of songs. Not knowing what he was really doing with all those samples and cassette tapes, he started mixing for friends birthdays, parties and would work with local photographers to create mixes for there studios. Dennis, was hooked, every Friday night it was the record store, gazing over 12in mixes of his favorite bands that had the sound the he loved.
At the age of 17 he got a break, working a local bar Joshua’s 2 in Youngstown, Oh. He only Djed there a couple times, before he realized he had to the gift to make people move. Using some of his own remixed songs he would even play tapes of his remixed worked. Since he didn't really understand beat mapping, he learned the hard way, by trial and error, what worked and what didn't.
At age 18 he moved to Florida, where the sound there was happening, new beats that challenged him and to see what the dance bars were really all about. He worked part-time at bar no longer standing. Even though it was part-time he worked hard to get his name out there. His name did get out there, but only a short time. Dennis didn’t have any mentors, he just did what he did and he knew how to do it. When he was down in Florida Dennis would be the Dj for his friends at Disney World the upper crust parties he would DJ, they would always say, He always has the latest and new music. Dennis worked that, always going out to test new music.
He moved from state to state trying to find his place, from Texas, Indiana, Georgia, and then back to Indiana then finally making his home in Georgia at the age of 23.
He came along way from Sinsonic drums and a commodore 64 computer.
Dennis traveled a lot during the year of the boy and girls bands, 1995-2001 from Germany, Sweden, Amsterdam, Paris all with the help of his home bar Le Buzz in Marietta, GA, its still there, but not like it used to be when Dennis Djed every Friday and Saturday night. Sometimes he would Dj at Burkhart’s in Atlanta. Dennis always would spend countless Saturdays and Sunday at the no longer EDs gourmet records. After so much travel to parties and function's music conferences, Dennis threw in the towel, burnt out on Djing and wasn't finding the music very explored. So he took his sites on more of created, remixing and total mixconfusion. So in 2002 he got himself software, new turntables and started his new direction in sounds.
To this day Dennis still Djs, but not in the clubs, the clubs are not what they used to be. He has played at Birdies on the Sq in Decatur, GA but you can hear him on the CDs that friends have floating around from the early days to today. He has never given up that energy he has to get the dance floor moving.
Today, Dennis has his own studio, MixConFUSION. Compiled with two keyboards (M-Audio/Yamaha), Fruit loops, Acid 6, Apple Pro laptop and countless instruments. He is now working remixing and created his own blend, sometimes collaborating with other bands to remix there music. When Dennis is out Djing you can find with his trusty Sony travel laptop, Traktor 3, and his new Numark total control mixing his own blend of breaks, dance, underground and house. Always experimenting with the next new thing. He is the one to keep an eye on for music.
