About me: I am a hobby musician lucky enough to get signed by a small indie label simply because they are interested in my unique sound. I also have a day job, which I love, that is not connected with music in any way. I am truly blessed.

My bands and projects: Vanity Project; I try to express myself in an upfront, honest and expressive singing style. I have had no training but like to use different parts of the voice to dig around in an unusual emotional vocabulary. The music is sumarised by the phrase "beats, bleeps and basslines" and I find it very hard to compare it to well-known artists or describe it in better detail. I spend a lot of time on sound design, trying to get sounds that complement the meaning of the lyrics. Lyrically, I can be deep and poetic, or abstract and cut-up. However some concept or experience of genuine depth and meaning to me is always at the root of it. About 90% of my work is backed by a straight-ahead 4-to-the-floor beat (with complex fills and changes). I use elements of house, techno and electro but continue to re-invent the dance music format in my own style. Recently I have been doing some remixes for other artists on the label. I love giving them something they never expected - for example, a weird key or tempo they wouldn't have dreamt up themselves.
