Hi there, my name is Cliff Ward. I am a classical guitarist and violinist from Cambridge, uk. Ive been playing the guitar and violin since the age of 9 years old. I have a degree in music from Anglia Ruskin University where my main focus was the Classical Guitar and recording techniques. Before i went to Anglia I studied with Chris Kilvington and then Lorrianne Eastwood and Peter Rueffer at University.I am a guitar teacher in Cambridge and Ely and i have been teaching since the age of 14. This opportunity has given me many years of experience, teaching individuals as well as running orchestras and smaller groups. I currently teach at Kings School, Ely as well as several other venues in the area. Please email me if you would like to get in touch regarding lessons. My main study is the Classical Guitar (performance Diploma (Trinity)) as this was and is my main focus, however i do have plenty of experience with the electric guitar and i do teach Rock as well. Performance wise i have been in many bands over the years playing a wide variety of styles. Currently i play guitar, fiddle and vocals in 'Lightning Jack', guitar and fiddle with Jade Rhiannon and my own group 'Black Flowers' playing guitar and vocals. I have played many venues and Festivals across the country (worldwide if i include orchestras) including The Borderline, London, The Cambridge Corn Exchange, Ely Folk Festival and the Cambridge Folk Festival.I am also available to play at special events including weddings, parties, fetes, hotels, restaurants etc. I perform as a solo guitarist, a violin duo with my sister, and i am also part of a trio called 'The Olives' performing new and old popular classics with a folky twist!
