D16 has announced that the latest addition to its SilverLine range will be Redoptor, a vintage tube distortion plug-in based on a guitar tube amp.

This is hardly a new concept, but the company reckons that the fact you can adjust the preamp characteristic and finely control the distortion will make Redoptor stand out from the crowd.

Further details will be released soon - in fact, the plug-in should be available before the end of 2008 - but in the meantime, check out the preview video below. Redoptor will cost €35, though if you pre-order it from the D16 website you'll only have to pay €29.
