Speculation is mounting that we could see a new version of Apple's iPhone at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference in June, and that this will have a faster processor and significantly more RAM than the current model.

A poster on a Chinese forum has claimed to have specs for the updated device - these state that it will have a 600MHz CPU, 256MB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The current iPhone has a 400MHz processor and 128MB of RAM, and maxes out at 16GB of storage.

These specs certainly sound plausible and, if confirmed, would give app developers more power to play with. In theory, this would mean that existing music-making software would run better and new titles would be able to offer more in the way of functionality.

The poster also reckons that the new iPhone will include an FM radio, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and digital compass. The design is predicted to be similar to its predecessor.

The WWDC takes place on 8-12 June in San Francisco.
