NAMM 2008: Moog Voyager Old School has no MIDI or presets

Moog's latest digital free synthesizer is old school by name and nature

Moog's latest synth offering has caused quite a stir at this year's NAMM Show. The Minimoog Voyager Old School sits somewhere between the Voyager and the Little Phatty as far as price is concerned, but the look and spec almost pre-date them both.

The Old School - a replacement for the Minimoog Model D - is an analog synth with no presets and no MIDI. In fact, it's completely digital free.

This Minimoog boasts a cool, vintage looking hardwood frame and the rest of the spec is not to be sniffed at either:

- Two Moog filters and one stereo VCA (Voltage Controlled Amplifier).
- A 44-key keyboard with velocity and afterpressure outputs, pitch bend and modulation wheels and control/pedal input jacks
- Oscillators, Mixer, Filters, Envelopes, LFO (Low Frequency Oscillator) and Enhanced Modulation Busses Modules
- A hinged, multi-position panel and a solid hardwood cabinet
