One man's journey into geek-tech utopia

Cuddliness aside though, I'm not expecting it to be easy. However good the UI, debug features and tutorials are, this is a program that (through no fault of its design) requires serious effort and input from the user. At its core Max, is a programming language and there aren't going to be any shortcuts on offer.
I'm determined though. I'll report back with part one of my journey soon…
Personally I have been doing MAX/MSP and Jitter for the past two years as part ofmy course of study at University. I am fairly adept with msp 4 but have to say that v.5 makes things soo much simpler that it is no extremely easy to pick up and anyone familliar with an older version will find it extremely easy
I have a pretty good size home studio with alot of gear that i have acquired over the years. I am always buying the latest technology in order to enhance my workflow. I have things like the Tenroi-on, Euphonix MC Control, Apogee Ensemble and Duet, Virus Ti, etc... The problem is that i always feel like alot of the apps do not work like i think. I am in IT by my profession and i always though about making some apps. I have NI Komplete which comes with Reaktor, but i do not feel like that makes a komplete app like MAX/MSP. I am contemplating taking the same journey myself. I know alot of traditional programming languqages like C, Assembly, Basic, etc... So i am thinking that i could probably comprehend MAX/MSP pretty well. If Cycling '74 would be willing to send another copy, I would definitely blog my experiences from a technical point of view and maybe I could help out a few people along the way. I would love to be an advocate of a product that i believe in.
