Man electrocutes his face in the name of music

Electric dreams: what is he trying to achieve?
Electric dreams: what is he trying to achieve?

We've heard about people suffering for their art, but this is just ridiculous.

In a new video, a man by the name of Daito Manabe can be seen using a system that uses electric pulses to stimulate his facial muscles.

Simultaneously, these pulses seem to be triggering sounds on a computer - our old friend Max/MSP is probably involved somewhere along the line.

We're not sure where this project might be heading next - is this going to some kind of performance tool? - but we'll certainly keep an eye on it.

Suffice to say, trying something similar at home is not recommended.
