It seems that DJ Tiësto may have revealed the existence of a DJing version of Guitar Hero by mentioning his involvement in the project in a newsletter.

"We are proud to announce that Tiësto has teamed up with the game developer Activision and their latest project DJ Hero," says the latest missive from the Dutch trance wizard. He goes on: "I am very excited about this! I think this is a great way to introduce people into DJing".

Activision itself is yet to confirm the existence of a DJ Hero game - and we don't know yet if Tiësto is simply contributing songs or endorsing it in some other way - but he seems to be suggesting that it will require a degree of skill on the user's part.

"Maybe they [sic] realise it's not as easy as they think. I am sure this brings new fans to the scene; dance music is not far from hip-hop for example. Hopefully the music I have composed appeals to all kinds of fans!"

A mixing version of Guitar Hero has been rumoured for some time, while Genco Interactive and 7 Studios have confirmed that a game calledScratch: Ultimate DJ is also in the works.
