The No.1 website for musicians
Your favourite bass players revealed... but who is the best ever?
The MusicRadar Team, Fri 24 Sep 2010, 11:56 am BST
To celebrate the launch of MusicRadar's dedicated bass channel, we asked you to submit your nominations for the greatest electric bassist of all time via Facebook, Twitter and the comments on our original call-to-arms article.
Once we'd whittled your suggestions down to a top 25, the voting began in earnest. So, without further ado, in reverse order, we present the 25 greatest bassists of all time, as voted for by you. Kicking things off in style at number 25 is Curtis Mayfield's super-funky early 1970s bassman, Joseph 'Lucky' Scott.
"It's gotta be Lucky Scott. So underrated. Check out his sublime work on Pusherman or We Got To Have Peace to hear why." (From Jason via Facebook, thanks)
