I hate user-gen tab because I like to see the actual music and rhythm. I use guitarinstructor.com, which is done by hal leonard. Their books have always been the most accurate, and the tab there is pretty much dead on. Most are just 99 cents US

fair play chris, i'll take my serving of humble pie and apolagise. I have watched graham coxon play that song in drop d, but i think i had a go mainly because of the pop you guys took at user-gen tabs, as it seemed to go against the community ethos of this site. I learned to play using these "illegal" sites, as im sure many people here did, and i love the way these sites have different versions and interpritations of songs. However, as with the "bargains of the week", i realise you must persue your revenue streams. I'll shut up.

Is it possible to make the site browsable?
Having the option to search is all well and good, but if you search for something and don't find anything, I (for one) am not certain whether there is nothing there or simply I've entered the search terms wrong.
Being able to browse by artist would be quite nice (IMO).

    Hi Nigel.
Are you sure you're not confusing drop D for 'one semitone lower', as stated on the tab? If you listen to the original, you can clearly hear (from the voicing of the chords) that the guitar is in standard tuning (albeit tuned down from concert pitch), just like our tab. Also, check out this live performance of the track: http://bit.ly/6Ll9rp where Graham plays in standard.
We'd definitely advise playing the track in standard rather than drop D tuning - you don't want to go raga on it, after all.
Thought you were great at Glasto, by the way.

Looks almost as shabby as musicroom.com's online tab site to be honest. First song I clicked out of curiosity was "you're so great" which is meant to be in drop D and, suprise suprise, the TAB here is wrong. Expensive, and wrong. Having a pop at online TAB is a bit rich while trying to sell this garbage, at least user generated stuff has involved a musician who cares about the song trying to get it right and working together with others to build a decent TAB. It's rare I think this, but poor effort musicradar, you must know these TABs are wrong, it takes 2 minutes to see that. Why then are you trying to flog them??

What format are the tabs in? Do they play through a piece of bespoke software, like with Guitar Pro? I'm interested to see how this stacks up against Line 6's online subscription service, but if £1.25 (which I would like to point out is more than actually downloading the song from a legal downloading service) just gets you the tablature for one song and nothing else then to be honest I don't think it stacks up. Line 6 has a big library of tracks and lessons that you can play along with, plus downloadable tones to match, and all unlimited access and regularly updated for a pretty reasonable monthly fee.
We all love to learn our favourite tracks, but for (seemingly) much better value for money there are a variety of options out there for learning both artist tracks and specialist, technique-based instruction by decent tutors, which I'm sure many would argue is much more beneficial than simply learning a song, even with correct tablature.
It's a great idea though and I'm looking forward to seeing how it develops. I might well be suprised and find something I've been after for ages, we'll have to see!

Honestly I never worried about the legality of tab I found on the web. I felt it was enough that I paid for the music in the first place.
Accuracy though, might actually be worth paying for.
