Tributes to Michael Jackson will undoubtedly continue for months to come, but here's something MusicRadar never thought it would see or hear - Steve Vai covering Beat It.

He's joined be fellow Favored Nations guitarist Andy Timmons. The show was on 27 June as part of the Meinl Guitar Festival in Germany.

Rumours are rife that, eventually, a live tribute event to Jackson will occur, much like the Freddie Mercury tribute concert of 1992.

Is Vai's performance a fitting tribute to Jackson?

It is my carefully considered opinion that this is not good. And what the hell is Andy Timmons doing on stage? What, Michael Angelo Batio was too busy?
