I mean, a guy like John Lydon is just caustic and pissed off at the whole world, and doesn’t even really have a true reason for being angry at anything any more. He represented something so strongly – with this new poetry and this new way of thinking, or a new approach to music or things that f**kin’ piss you off about society. Then, to see him turn into this guy who’s not even inspiring any more, I don’t want to end up like that: where you start turning into the antithesis of why you started getting into it to begin with.”
